The PlayPaq is capable of receiving standard POCSAG pages. In addition to normal paging functions, additional configuration of the PlayPaq can be done via POCSAG.

Configuration Capcode

Special PlayPaq configuration messages can be broadcast on POCSAG capcode 100016. All PlayPaq’s can hear these messages, regardless of their system ID configuration for normal paging.

Location Configuration

The Location Configuration message is sent to PlayPaqs on POCSAG capcode 100016. It informs new PlayPaqs of their location ID. Format of the message is as follows:

[L#########]

where:

  • ######### is the 9-digit location ID, with no dashes or other symbols

📘

Note

This messages should be broadcast at a low power level, typically power level 1. This prevents accidental configuration of adjacent PlayPaq installations.
