Group Paging

Group paging is an LRS extension to POCSAG that allows pages to be sent simultaneously to a subset of the entire system. 4-line alphapagers will indicate a page was a group page on the page summary screen. If the group has not been named, then the group number will be shown:

178

If the group has was named at programming time, then the name will be shown:

178

Group Numbers

Group numbers are 2-decimal digits. Valid group numbers are 0 through 98. 99 is reserved to indicate a disabled group slot.

Transmitting Group Pages

Group pages are always sent to the system capcode of the pager. The start of a group page takes the following form:

[##]

where ## is a 2 digit decimal group number, left padded with zeroes (0) if necessary. The message to display is comes after the ].
